Here at Naim Audio there is an exciting opportunity for a full time Product Manager to join our Communications team.

This post will be split 50/50 between Salisbury (UK) / Saint-Etienne (France)

The job holder will have to implement the marketing action plan of the brand they represent in line with the company’s overall strategy. Their actions are orientated in order to meet growth objectives in terms of turnover, profitability and market share in the short and medium term.

They are the guarantor of the management of the solution (or range of solutions) from its conception to its launch. It is their responsibility to follow the project in its entirety and monitor each stage of solution development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Technical activities:

  • Study the market and define the needs
  • Follow market developments: technological and industrial innovations
  • Detect new market and product opportunities by anticipating and analysing customer expectations in conjunction with the Sales and R&D departments and providing a solution to the requirement
  • Collect information from the sales department, R&D department, & Retail department in order to identify the market characteristics
  • Propose new solution ideas
  • Conducting trend studies beyond the scope of our industry alone (consumption habits, trends and codes of activity for our target consumers).

 

Define and develop the positioning of products on the market:

  • Define with downstream sales the positioning of the solution on the market in terms of price, proposal of gross margin, profitability of the life of the solution or solution line
  • Formalise sales objectives and forecasts in collaboration with downstream sales by geographical area and implement action plans if necessary
  • Lead the concept phase and then follow the project from the pre-project phase to industrialisation. Being the guarantor of the good progress of the development project and carrying out the reporting necessary to its hierarchy
  • Write the Marketing brief
  • Coordinate with downstream sales department for any changes
  • Validate the solution
  • Create all the elements and draw up a document that will explain the technical elements of the solution and allow its launch
  • Communicate to the downstream Communication & Sales department the elements of packaging, leaflet, solution sheets
  • Write the Notices and solution data sheet supports
  • Guarantee the confidentiality of information of new solutions

 

Cross-functional activities:

To carry out the responsibilities of project manager

  • Lead a specific team with the various department managers
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of all the internal and/or external project stakeholders
  • Define, follow up and control the progress of the project, as well as the performance indicators (cost, quality, and deadline)
  • Facilitate meetings with the stakeholders involved in the project
  • Manage project risks and report hard points to the various steering bodies
  • Carry out the project in compliance with the procedures put in place
  • Be responsible for the internal and external communication of the project
  • Report to their line manager on the status of the project and its workload

Skills & Requirements

Knowledge and skills:

  • Experience in electronic goods market with a passion/interest in technologies, gadgets, software, digital IT, applications
  • Keen awareness of user experience dynamics regarding electronic goods
  • Familiar with luxury and high end products and customers' requirements
  • Ability to speak French – fluent
  • Ability to be able to travel to France regularly (possibly as much as 2 weeks a month)
  • Knowledge of commercial distribution channels
  • Knowledge of product marketing and research
  • Knowledge of Naim and Focal products and sector of activity
  • Strong technical culture of the product/solution
  • Ability to integrate product development constraints
  • Ability to extract the strong points of product differentiation
  • Editorial skills
  • Experience in Smart Home and CI Vision

Qualification / Experience

Location:

Salisbury (UK) / Saint-Etienne (France) – 50/50 - 2 weeks /2 weeks

Reporting to:

Group Marketing Manager (France location)

Hours of work:

37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday
