The Roots of TIDAL

This month, we have partnered with TIDAL to offer Naim customers who purchase Mu-so and Mu-so Qb wireless music systems, a free six month TIDAL Hi-Fi tier subscription (UK and Ireland only – until 16th April 2018). With over 30 million tracks in its library, we want to delve deeper, selecting our Naim Audio highlights from TIDAL, showing you the beauty of this artist led platform and the benefits of it through its content and superb sound quality.

TIDAL is a ‘Hi-Fi streaming service’ which is a favourite of audiophiles. Standard Hi-Fi streaming resolution with TIDAL is 16bit which is already a cut above many of the streaming services available. At Naim, we share similar values and an unfaltering passion for music - striving for that optimal listening experience.

Lifestyle

In an age of digital ubiquity, exclusives are valuable. TIDAL offers plenty of content, exclusive videos, albums, tracks, livestreams and events. From early bird tickets to Beyonce and exclusive TIDAL events for members to album offerings like Jay Z’s recent 4:44.

TIDAL Rising

TIDAL Rising is also a great feature - a platform that promotes up and coming talent from all over the world. This is an exciting and useful way to discover new music that we can trust is coming from the TIDAL ambassadors - some of the most influential and innovative artists in the world. Rising artists are also heavily involved with some of the larger names involved with the service - often supporting them on tour and performing at exclusive TIDAL events such as TIDAL X.

TIDAL Rising artists have included the likes of Lianne La Havas - originally Paloma Faith’s backing singer, she rose to fame in 2012. Two albums later and a host of incredible awards, including a nomination for the Critics Choice Mercury Prize… TIDAL didn’t disappoint with their A&R skills on this one.

Other artists include Snail Mail, aka Lindsey Jordan. Writing about her suburban youth whilst playing punk inflected riffs on her guitar, she has been dubbed the “wisest teenage indie rocker”.

Yaya Bey makes R’n’B which is as grandiose as it is vulnerable. A fusion of feminist protest songs, glittering love anthems and accounts of heartbreak and longing. Check out her new release “Circles and Squares” off her upcoming record “Ants”.
