Naim for Automobili Pininfarina

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Automobili Pininfarina, which will bring our signature Naim sound to its groundbreaking Battista: the world's first pure-electric luxury hypercar. In the electric vehicle (EV) era, audio becomes more important than ever; we see this new partnership as the opportunity to create an all-new sound experience as revolutionary as Battista itself.

No more than 150 of the ultra-exclusive Battista cars will be hand-crafted by Pininfarina in Cambiano near Turin in Italy, with deliveries to clients worldwide beginning early in 2021. Each Battista will be specified with a bespoke Naim Audio system.

Conceived and crafted over more than a year, by a joint team of Naim and Automobili Pininfarina experts, Battista’s sound system strives to enhance still further the pleasure of driving the most powerful electric hypercar ever made.

The newly developed Battista audio system delivers an incredible 1300 Watt of sonic power through 10 speakers arranged inside the exquisitely appointed cabin of Automobili Pininfarina’s first pure-electric car. The new system features a Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer located between driver and passenger seats, with super-tweeters amplifying higher frequencies situated behind the seats and in the panels of Battista’s dramatic butterfly doors.

Our engineers have developed the pure-electric hypercar’s amplification and built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) system to deliver exceptional in-car audio, with a truly immersive listening experience. We have also drawn on the acoustic expertise of our fellow VerVent Audio brand, Focal, to further optimise all speakers for their unique environment. Tuning is optimised for both driver and passenger: a symmetrical speaker layout creates an auditorium-like studio effect, with incredible realism and ambience.

REACHING THE PINNACLE OF SONIC POWER THROUGH UNRIVALLED TECHNOLOGIES

Our designers and engineers have seamlessly integrated custom speakers and associated electronics into the luxurious interior of Battista. Precise locations, directions, the way of integrating the speakers in the interior vehicle design - all have gone through several testing iterations aimed at maximizing the acoustic performance and delivering the purest experience of music, as close as possible to the original live source.

Extensive collaboration between the brands has enhanced the sound performance through a combination of design, engineering and technologically advanced materials, including rare and precious Beryllium. A material renowned for its rigidity - far exceeding Titanium or Aluminium - Beryllium can extend the frequency response and improve the perception of micro acoustic details.

BACK TO OUR ROOTS

Naim has had links with the automotive industry since its early 1970s origins. Our founder, Julian Vereker was a racing car driver with a deep passion for music. He decided to design his own amplifiers and loudspeakers when he found existing audio systems failed to reproduce the real, moving sound he enjoyed when he heard music played live.
