Soundtracks can accompany not only movies or television but also video games and books. Some directors are as intrinsically linked to the soundtracks as they are to their films. Star Wars is also known as a Space Opera. The soundtrack to the 1937 Walt Disney animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first commercially issued film soundtrack.
Hans Zimmer: True Romance
Hans Zimmer, one of the most renowned names in film score and has worked on a whole array of classics from The Lion King to Gladiator. Born in Germany in the late 50’s, Hans started scoring in the 1980s, and has since composed music for over 150 films. ‘You’re So Cool’, part of the 1993 soundtrack for romantic crime film classic ‘True Romance’, is a cover of Carl Orff’s ‘Gaussenhauer’. It undoubtedly contributes to the cult following of the Tony Scott directed classic.
